Donation-Based Psychological Counseling & Coaching for Artists and Cultural Workers

We’re delighted to announce that TGR The Green Room will be based at the Alte Feuerwache in Cologne’s Agnesviertel from autumn 2025.

To mark this new chapter, we are launching a collaborative project with Alte Feuerwache Köln that reflects our core mission: providing psychological support for people working in the arts and culture sector – accessible, confidential, and needs-oriented.

It was a true honour for TGR The Green Room to help coordinate support for the legendary jazz pianist Richie Beirach during a profoundly difficult period in his life.

Richie (1947-2026) touched countless musicians and listeners through his artistry, generosity, teaching, and mentorship. When he faced serious health challenges and financial hardship that left him unable to perform, the international musical community responded with extraordinary compassion.

Through our GoFundMe campaign, €35,264 was raised to support Richie’s care and living expenses. These funds made it possible to provide meaningful practical support during his final months, helping to ease immediate pressures and offer greater dignity and stability at a vulnerable time.

Richie passed away on 26 January 2026. We remain deeply grateful to everyone who contributed, shared the campaign, or offered support in other ways. The response was a moving testament to the immense respect and affection he inspired across the musical world.

Being able to support Richie in this way was a privilege.

 Transition Groups

Beginning in February 2022 two new transition groups will be forming at The Green Room, one intensive in-person group in Cologne, and another English-speaking group held monthly online.

TGR is offering these two formats intended to build resilience and a sense of community among artists who are undertaking, or considering, changes to the structure of their professional lives:
