Susanne Dickhaut

Susanne Dickhaut is a lecturer in the Pilates Method at the Center for Contemporary Dance in the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz (HfMT) in Cologne and is a qualified sports scientist and dancer.

She teaches professional dancers and musicians, as well as people of all ages.

As a dancer and choreographer, she has participated in numerous contemporary dance productions and performances. In 2001, she was hired as a dancer for Jennifer Muller’s company 'The Works' in New York City. At this time, in preparation for the engagement with 'The Works' and their upcoming worldwide tour, Susanne Dickhaut was seriously injured and had to abruptly end her career as a professional dancer.

Arising out of this traumatic experience, Susanne began a specialization and concentration on preventative work through the Pilates Method for professional dancers and non-dancers. She obtained a variety of certifications, including in Pilates Mat, Pilates Allegro and Pilates Studio, and worked for several years as an instructor for Polestar Pilates throughout Germany.

Susanne Dickhaut continued assisting the choreographer Jennifer Muller (USA) as a dancer in workshops throughout Europe and as a researcher for the publication “Tanztechniken 2010 - Tanzplan Deutschland”, and initiated her own projects with great enthusiasm.

Susanne Dickhaut is a lecturer at the Tanzfestival Bielefeld and taught at the M.A. Tanzkultur V.I.E.W. at the Deutschen Sporthochschule Köln (DSHS Köln), was a guest lecturer at dance companies, universities and schools, gave lectures, published articles, is a licensed fascia trainer and member of the German Pilates Association and tamed (Dance Medicine Germany) as a therapist and since November 2020 a licensed leader for the prevention courses Autogenic Training.

Susanne Dickhaut teaches with precision, experience, knowledge and joy.
