Angelika Stockmann

Angelika Stockmann studied violoncello at the Folkwang Hochschule in Essen;

  • Artistic degree in 1988.

  • Until 1998: active chamber music and concert activity.

  • 1989-91: training as a Dispensokineter with G.O. van de Klashorst.

  • Years of teaching at the German Center for Dispokinesis in Oberhausen.

  • 1988 - 2009: Lecturer for violoncello at the Niederrheinische Musik- und Kunstschule Duisburg; consulting hours for Dispokinesis.

Angelika Stockmann has been working in her own practice for over 20 years with students and professional musicians (instrumentalists, singers and conductors) on playing disorders, overload syndromes, inhibitions of expression, etc.. She also accompanies musically gifted children and adolescents. Special focuses of her work are:

  •  working with musicians with focal dystonia

  • successfully dealing with stage fright and stage anxiety

  • developmental support

  • audition training

In addition, she regularly conducts workshops at music colleges and universities as well as at all major music associations, such as the Landesmusikrat, the Bayrischer Tonkünstlerverband, Jeunesses Musicales and ESTA.

She is a member of the German Society for Music Physiology and Musicians' Medicine and regularly represents Dispokinesis at the European Congress of Musicians' Medicine. Numerous essays on the subject, including in "Das Orchester" and in "Üben und Musizieren".

  • 1998-2015 Director of the training course Dispokinesis.

  • 2001-2009 Training and certificate in Formative Psychology (Stanley Keleman/ California). Certificate 2009

  • 2009-2011 Lectureship at the Musikhochschule Hamburg für Musik und Theater Hamburg for "General Instrumental Didactics" and Dispokinesis.

  • Since winter semester 2009 teaching position Dispokinesis at the Peter-Ostwald-Institute for Musicians' Health at the Cologne University of Music.

In the first half of 2022 her book "Üben hilft eben doch!", Lösungsorientiert Üben in Prävention und Therapie, will be published by Wißner Verlag.
